"Parents Matter from birth to adulthood,
especially in the Middle Years"
The Tri-Cities MCM seeks to support you in your major role as parents by offering you information concerning available local and regional services, upcoming events, child development and parenting. We also release relevant research; and provide opportunities for you to participate in discussions regarding developments in your community.
Your involvement in our decision-making process is of great value to us in our effort to make the Tri-Cities a strong community for families. To make this possible we will occasionally offer questionnaires and discussion groups as well as maintain a networking presence on Facebook. On facebook you may post your community raves and concerns on our wall, vote on current polls, as well as post and respond to discussion questions. Our facebook page also offers regular updates on our projects and development as well as local community events. Please consider adding us as a friend to stay informed and participate.
For years parents have expressed frustration that there is no centralised listing of what is available in the community for children and families. They have often had to seek out resources and support services through numerous avenues on their own and this can be an exhausting endevour.
All parents want to be the best parents they can be. There is no ‘one-size-fit-all’ book/program that guarantees great parenting skills. Not every parent is interested, or even available to attend parenting courses or read self-help books on matters related to parenting their school-aged child. Instead of spending hours browsing the internet for helpful resources to get helpful parenting information, we are offering a parenting resource section on a wide range of topics suitable to parenting 6-12 year olds. Please check out our parenting resource section.
