After school community programming at both Miller Park and Seaview Community Schools begins January 24 and will run five days per week until March 18.  Programs include Rhythmic Gymnastics, Karate, and a variety of sports activities as well as arts and crafts programs.  Programs will repeat from April 11 to June 3.  These programs are open to all children between 6 and 11 years.

Volunteer as a reading buddy to a child in Grades 1-3 and help them improve their reading skills so that they see how cool reading is! This is also a great way to gain volunteer hours for your Community Work Experience requirement and will look awesome on your resume.  Pick up an application at the Terry Fox Library Info Desk.

Get out your gardening gloves: Learn how to design succulent and alpine planters (for Adults)

Monday, March 28, 7:00-8:30 pm

Embrace the start of spring by learning to make your own succulent and alpine planters. Succulents have taken off in popularity over the past few years and are a great addition to any modern garden or patio. City of Port Coquitlam gardener, James Bobick, will be demonstrating how to put together these planters, as well as explaining the cultural requirements to grow them successfully. One of the planters will be given away as a door prize!

School District 43

Our fourth annual Spring Break camps will be taking place this year at Seaview, Miller Park and Central Community Schools.  In partnership with SFU we offer the ‘School of Wonderstanding’.  This has typically been a four or five day program that offers an opportunity for twenty plus student teachers to work together and to work with about 80 children.  Student teachers receive credit for their organization and creativity while the children have a fabulous time.  Exact dates are to be determined.

The Empowering Mother’s Program, winner of the United Community Spirit Award is offering a 8 week creative parenting group.
