Description of Services:
Friends of Simon recruits, prepares and assigns university students as literacy tutors in after school programs at Mountainview, Miller Park, and Roy Stibbs Elementary Schools, and at Banting Middle School. This service is free of charge to participants.

The Tri-Cities Family Resource Centre for Families
with Exceptional Children
Description of Services:
Orton Gillingham Group tutoring for students who struggle with reading. Students aged 6-14; After school theatre club - for children aged 7 and up. For children who are shy, need social skills training, or who have difficulty making friends; Teen girls social club. For girls 11 - 15. For girls who need social skills training, or who want to make new friends, Creative girl time. For girls aged 6-10. A fun supportive environment for girls who have exceptional learning and support needs; Senior Boys social recreation club. For boys aged 11 - 15. For boys who need social skills practice, who may need some guidance making and keeping friends, or learn how to deal with conflict in a positive way; junior boys social club. For boys aged 6 - 11. For boys who need social skills training and who have difficulty making and keeping friends; Co-ed Life Skills. For youth 13 and up. For students who have learning and support needs.

Savage School of Music
Description of Services:
Savage School of Music exists to educate and inspire through private and/or group musical instruction while providing a creative and interactive learning environment.
Piano, Voice, Guitar and Drum lessons: $20 per half hour; $40 per hour.
Music Theory lessons: $25 per half hour and $50 per hour.
We teach children as young as 3 all the way up to 103.

Description of Services:
Childcare/respite - family to family respite where child with disability goes to a caregiver's home 1 weekend per month. Respite program funded through MCFD.
Parks & Recreation: Summer program - YOUTH GO for youth with autism 11-15; 6 weeks long; 5 hours per day. Parent fee of $20.00 per day.
Summer Program: Camp Alexander for children with physical and cognitive disabilities; 3 residential camps 5 days per camp. Referrals are made through staff at Sunnyhill Hospital and the cost of the camp is covered by MCFD.

Story Times for children birth to age 6 book programs, Reading Buddies, Red Cedar groups, library or in- school visits, summer programs. The Reading Buddies program is for children in Grades 1-4 {with teen buddies). Red Cedar is for Grades 4/5, and the Reading Link program is also for Grades 4/5 (done through the schools, starting every September). There usually are Spring Break programs for Grade4/5, and Summer Reading is for school-aged children.
